The MUMAQ is supported by Canadian Heritage
The MUMAQ is honoured to receive support from Canadian Heritage for three important projects that will take place at the Museum in 2022. Through the Museums Assistance Program (MAP), the MUMAQ has received assistance to develop digital projects and also to upgrade the layout of the Museum Reserve.
The two digital projects aim to provide the Museum with a digitization strategy that will allow us to establish guidelines for the digitization of the collections and their use over the next three years. The second project will allow us to improve the experience of visitors to the museum, as we will be equipping ourselves with two new digital terminals. These will initially present one thousand objects from the collection that are not in the permanent exhibition and will be enhanced over the years. Photos, descriptive files and contextualization content will be included for each object so that visitors can discover new acquisitions or see pieces that are sometimes too fragile to be displayed in the gallery.
The collection management project will allow our conversation team to review the reserve spaces in order to optimize their use. An upgrade of our digital tools is also part of the project to facilitate the work of our team.
Canadian Heritage’s support for the year 2022 is close to $100,000, which makes them a major partner in our activities. We wish to acknowledge their contribution and thank them for their participation in our projects.
