Art Book Exhibition | Trois entretiens
Starting on June 15th, we will be hosting the Art Book Exhibition entitled “Three Interviews” as part of the Dialogues Program: Encounters with Riopelle’s Work from Sea to Sea.
Under the direction of master printer, publisher, and print art gallery owner Agathe Piroir, this project presents itself as a dialogue between poetry and visual arts materialized around the themes of nature, indigeneity, and migration that Jean Paul Riopelle explored throughout his illustrious career.
Eight artists from Nunavut, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan have met with members of their communities to exchange ideas on the themes that were dear to Riopelle. The MUMAQ is proud to host the result of these reflections, a unique work that brings together prints and poems.
On July 8th, we will welcome Agathe Piroir, as well as the artists who collaborated on the project, for a roundtable discussion. Stay tuned for more details.
This project was made possible thanks to the Jean Paul Riopelle Foundation, in partnership with Culture pour tous, with the financial support of the Government of Canada.
