
The 2025 Jean-Marie-Gauvreau and Jean-Cartier Prizes
We are delighted to bring you the highlights of the Jean-Marie-Gauvreau and Jean-Cartier Prize ceremony, a memorable evening organised in partnership with the Conseil des Métiers d’art du Québec (CMAQ).
During the event, our guests had the honour of discovering the exceptional works of the 2025 finalists. Each creation reflects remarkable talent and a deep passion for fine crafts.
The exhibition of works by the winners and finalists of the 2025 edition continues at the Museum until May 4th.
The Jean-Marie-Gauvreau Prize, the most prestigious prize awarded to professional Quebec artisans rewards an exceptional work or collection created by a CMAQ member with more than 10 years of professional practice. The prize, presented by the CMAQ, comes with a $10,000 bursary. The two finalists will each receive a $1,000 bursary.
This year’s finalists were jeweller Mélanie Denis, textile artist Suzanne Paquette, and ceramicist Eva Lapka.
This year, the prize was awarded to Suzanne Paquette for her piece entitled Sur le pas de la porte (2024).

The Jean-Cartier Prize, dedicated to supporting emerging talent in fine crafts, rewards a work created by a CMAQ member with less than 5 years of professional practice. Assurart is offering a $3,000 bursary to the winner.
This year’s finalists were silversmith Ting-Fen Chin, ceramicist Caroline Dubois, woodworking artist Juliette Huneau, and jeweller Joanie Guillemet.
This year, the prize went to Juliette Huneau for her piece entitled Dédale (2024).
