PLIS ET VESTIGES showcases the work of some thirty students in the Arts Visuels program at Cégep Saint-Laurent whose diverse artistic approaches all revolve around a common goal: evoking the emotional memories of spectators. Across the mediums of sculpture and drawing, these artists propose singular interpretations of texture, of dark/light, and of volume. Each piece invites the spectator to rediscover familiar elements: fragments of spaces fallen into ruin, bodies deformed by the passage of time, folds that hint at wear and transformation. The result is a reinvention of reality where past and present mingle, creating unique visual stories. This exhibition is the gateway to an introspective journey, questioning our perception of memory, of time’s inevitable erosion, and of the traces left behind on the body and the material.
