A look at the MUMAQ collections
Only around 3% of the objects conserved by the MUMAQ are on public display in our permanent exhibition! They have been carefully selected for their relevance to the exhibition. A museum's mission is as much one of dissemination as of preservation, and the rest of the collection is meticulously inventoried and stored in the museum's reserve, ready to be used for various research projects, inter-institutional loans or other exhibition and dissemination projects. 3D digitization makes it possible to open up the storerooms and give a wider public access to the conserved collections.
The MUMAQ has acquired a high-performance 3D digitizer that captures the particularities and details of each artifact. Our collections, made up of hand-crafted objects, benefit from digital processing adapted to each shape and material. This process now allows you virtually wander through a host of objects, whether to expand your knowledge, fuel your research, or satisfy your curiosity.
